Hello Squaddies,
We hope this message finds you happy and healthy.
Firstly, I want to thank you for the continued support and time you take out of your day to listen to Highbury Squad. I am very proud of the community we have built and love how listeners have connected as friends from all corners, cultures and continents. Sharing stories together is what makes Highbury Squad special and supporting Arsenal Football Club has brought us together for more reasons than we can explain.
I've been working away on a project that means a lot to me and have been looking forward to sharing it with all of you. Good Grief Gunners is a book of short stories inspired by the experience of losing my mum and our legend, Super Kevin Campbell. I actually spoke to Kevin about the book when my mum passed away and he loved the idea of how it can extend beyond even our community and help people. In fact, Kevin was graciously going to contribute and also write the foreward.
Super Kev touched our lives beyond football. Connecting him with fans around the world was something unique. Looking back, we were so lucky to have these cherished conversations with someone who wore the badge and gave fans so many beautiful memories. He loved the club with all of his heart. This book is another layer to keeping my mum and Super Kev's legacy alive.
Loss is devastating and football finds ways for us to help heal the heart. If you have a compelling story and experience where football helped you deal with loss, we would love to hear from you.
Don't forget to tell your loved ones you love them.
At Ease,
The Squad
